Tips

1. Start by listening without a transcript or key vocabulary

Listen to the podcast without any form of assistance at first - if the podcast includes a transcript or key vocabulary, don't glance at it the first time you listen to it.

2.- Use the key vocabulary and transcript

If a podcast comes with a transcript, It can help you follow the speech.

3.-  Change the speed of the podcast

The speed with which native English speakers talk is one of the most common complaints. This isn't an issue with podcasts. Too quickly? Reduce the speed.  You want to challenge yourself because it's too easy? Accelerate the speed.

4. Download the audio as well as the key vocabulary and transcript

If you have a bad internet connection, you can download almost every podcast to listen to offline, then your learning won’t be disrupted.

5. Make a vocabulary list

A competent language student should have their own dictionary of words, phrases, and expressions.  It's entirely up to you how you classify it. During that week, try to utilize every new phrase or expression you've learned.

6. Transcribe the podcast

This takes time, but it is a valuable skill that will pay off. Try writing your own transcript as you listen before looking at the provided transcript. After then, you should compare your transcription to the one provided.

7. Read the transcript aloud

Listening is an important part of being able to talk properly and pronounce words correctly.  Take the transcript and read it out loud to yourself. Make a record of yourself doing it if you can.

8. Make time for it every day or week

You need to make sure that you set aside a set period of time per day or week. You should make it until to get into a habit.
